What is Aircraft Matting?

Aircraft support matting is a temporary covering for military aircraft enabling safe and secure aircraft parking, taxiing of all types of aircraft on terrain that normally would be dangerous or impractical to do so. The primary function of Aircraft support matting is to provide a suitable flooring surface to create a taxi way in order to allow aircraft to leave the runway at speed, and to park stationary aircraft.

Temporary aircraft matting is a direct replacement for AM2 matting and it is lighter, air portable and simpler to deploy then any metal system.
